Avery (Cardinal) Dulles, S.J., The Survival of Dogma. New York: Crossroad, 1982. Unfortunately, this collection of essays is now out of print. It is well worth finding in your public or parish library or searching for a used copy through www.powells.com or www.amazon.com because Dulles brings the best of the Catholic tradition on faith, dogma, and authority into conversation with our contemporary questions.
Linda Hogan, Confronting the Truth: Conscience in the Catholic Tradition. New York: Paulist, 2001.
Hogan clearly explains the difficulties of this particular time in the Church's life and shows how we can be faithful Catholics in the best sense of that word.
